Taking an integral approach to life - the idea that all views and theories ever offered on anything throughout history have some partial truth or at least served some purpose in getting us to where we are today - taking all presented thoughts and theories on everything throughout humanity and organizing them by systematic means in a coherent manner, and examining how it all fits together. Looking at the development of consciousness, and how this fits within our current understanding of the world. All of this explained in an easy-to-understand manner complete with diagrams and theory models.
Ken has also authored many other books including “Integral Psychology”, “Sex, Ecology, and Spirituality”, “Grace & Grit”, “One Taste”, and many others. Besides authoring several books, I've come to learn that he also has worked or is working directly with (in most cases - sought by) many leading professionals in a vast range of fields, including various scientists, psychologists, former and current Prime Ministers, Presidents and government bodies, organizations such as Amnesty and more.
Ken states that he sees his theories and ideas as works to be improved upon and that they are not the end-all to all theories – definitely a humble statement. However, his is a unique perspective that has been able to incorporate literally everything and make sense of it all. Even though there were many references to people and pieces of work I was unfamiliar with – I still found his ideas coming through very coherently. This book was also a surprisingly short read – that was the most amazing part.
