so i'm working on this fun creative project for myself - and i just finished the intro yesterday, wanted to share a bit of it here (funny 'cause Letitflo put up his piece, "Intelligence Through Love" yesterday) anyways, this prolly won't be new to some of you cats - was actually just readin' some more of the philosophy section here that i hadn't seen before - likin' the independent thinkage & internalizationals !

Beyond the Surface

We have reached an amazing era in human history - a period where science and spirtuality have in fact already met and embraced. Fused as one, they tell the same story - that we have a very real impact on the ‘reality’ we experience - and that our reality is in many ways a reflection of who we are. Those who hold this vision with clarity, however, are few. The lacking of interconnectedness and the illusion of separation still veils the eyes, minds and hearts of many - causing confusion, conflict and disharmony. Perhaps this is why independent investigation into the ‘truth’ is ever critical. Using discernment combined with an open heart and mind, those who seek the truth may find it from within themselves and come to see the world anew.

Whatever particular beliefs we may or may not hold - it’s when we learn to connect to our conscience - to pay attention to our inner happenings that may result from our actions and reactions to people and situations - and to see the ensuing affects and patterns created in our own lives, that we may begin to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of who we are and what opportunities for growth we have. We all come from different walks of life and are at different stages of our unenfolding.

The universe is no small wonder - and neither is life on earth. Although in many respects, the world seems to be in a mess and certain aspects of society are geared towards furthering confusion and disharmony, our personal journey here can be what we choose it - one that has meaning - filled with joy, wonder and freedom, or one that is shallow - unaware and numb ! We are each like a universe all unto ourselves, and also obviously in relation to one another and everything around us - the time is ripe to explore and uncover our true nature !

Although the way that I perceive myself and life in general has changed greatly over the last few years, I have had my fair share of “learning experiences” in the distant and not-so distant past, and of course, this continues. Fortunately, I’ve learned the value of learning from my mistakes - forgiveness and compassion towards myself and others plays a big role (as does defending against undesirable influences).

An inspirational source once said, “it’s not about whether you fall - but how softly you land and how quickly you pick yourself up.” Indeed - we are all students of life...

nice, will this project draw from many personal experiences ?

it's definitely about sharing myself - the part that i cut out from the intro right after the last sentence at the top is: "It is within this context that I made this booklet to share with friends. In it are contained some of my personal experiences as well as some things I’ve found to be inspirational, insightful & fun - from all sides of the spectrum!"

it's kinda weird though - i just re-read what i wrote - seemed a little heavy - especially that whole part about "seeking the truth from within" ... playing devil's advocate to myself here, learning how to just be is prolly better than seeking for something that we already are ... it's kinda complicated tho .... i mean, everyone learns in his/her own way, and learns what he/she needs to when it's appropriate to learn about that particular thing (if they choose to learn at all) - we should be free to do that however we choose to - we each deal with ourselves and situations different too - i think it's just connecting to whoever we are inside and riding it out that way more so than anything ... in a way it's weird talkin' about this stuff - 'cause i'm still learning myself - learning to find balance and so many things ... it's a personal journey - we all have a personal journey - whether we decide to wake up to that or not - maybe that's the real issue and what i was tryin' 'to get at ...

I believe we all have things we are supposed to be doing (calling) and alot of us(me) need to step into the void to figure out just what it is..

Im a big fan of Saul Williams and i asked him

when did you first recognize what your calling was

he said that he always belived that he was going to be an actor growing up but one day while in gradschool(for acting) he read a poem out loud (for the first time) at a poerty reading and his whole world changed .. (mystical)

oceanchild, sometimes, no matter how softly i may land or how quickly i pick up, i get a little tired of it all... yet i realize that it's always up to me to acknowledge an inspiration (as there is always one lying around somewhere;) and keep on going! keep on gping for what, i sometimes ask myself, and the answer that i hear is "for all the mystical surprises that life has to offer, or for all that i have to offer life! ...believing in creativity and that it is up to us to make that magic happen... it is when we get bored or tired or uninspired that we have somehow been cut off from the magical air that surrounds us...
